J. Edward (Ed) Clair is the founding partner of Clair Law Offices, S.C., and works extensively in all areas of real estate law, corporate law, probate law and estate planning. Attorney Clair has over 40 years of experience in the legal profession.

Attorney Clair is a graduate of Chicago’s DePaul University (J.D. 1961) and the University of Notre Dame (B.S. 1958). He has been admitted to practice law in Wisconsin and Illinois and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

A significant amount of his practice is counseling clients on structuring estates and negotiating contracts, including general and corporate agreements.

Attorney Clair was one of the founding directors of Community Bank Delavan. He is active in the greater southeastern Wisconsin area and is currently serving as a board member for a number of companies, including Delavan Bancshares, Inc. (Director and Secretary), Arandell Corporation, Barker Lumber Company (Director and Secretary), and Dalco Metals, Inc. (Director and Secretary).

He is an active member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and State Bar of Wisconsin. He is also past president of the Walworth County Bar Association.

As a result of peer ratings from members of the Bar and Judiciary, Attorney Clair has earned an “AV” peer review rating. In 2002, Attorney Clair received the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers Award, which is the highest award given by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
